Amruta Khanvilkar lost on the television show Zee Cine Star Ki Khoj and started working in Marathi movies like Golmaal and Saade Maade Teen.
She continued to be seen on television in shows like Ekapeksha Ek, a dance based Marathi show; as an anchor on Comedy Express and as Anu Prakash in the television serial Time Bomb (2005).
In 2007 she acted in Mumbai Salsa with other new faces like Vir Das and Manjari Phadnis. She was seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s Contract (2008).
