Minamisawa Nao to star in rock musical, “Pink Spider”

Actress Minamisawa Nao will take on the new challenge of performing in a musical called “Pink Spider“, and she will be casted as the lead star! ”Pink Spider” is a story in which Meru (Minamisawa), who likes rock music, struggles between the real world and the fictional world.

The songs that will be used in the musical are all from X JAPAN’s guitarist, hide, who has passed away in 1998. It has not been decided which songs will be used, but about 15 to 20 songs by hide have been selected.


Although Minamisawa has been in stage performances before, this will be the first time she will be required to sing on stage. She will start voice training in January 2011, and she is currently preparing for the role by listening to hide’s songs.

“Pink Spider” will be played starting on March 8th through the 27th at Tokyo Globe Theatre, and it will also be brought to Fukuoka, Kobe, Nagoya, Niigata, Sendai, and Sapporo in April. Minamisawa’s role will be double-casted by Takahashi Hitomi.
