Han Seungyeon, the shortest in KARA with a height of 158 cm, stated, “There’s a huge height difference between me and maknae Jiyoung. I’d like to have Taeyeon join as a new member since she’s the shortest of her group.”

E-TRIBE reveals the meaning behind T-ara’s “YaYaYa” lyrics

If you’ve listened to T-ara’s “YaYaYa” track, it might have sounded a bit nonsensical. Composer E-TRIBE took a moment to explain the meaning behind his lyrics for T-ara’s comeback track.

E-TRIBE revealed, “I used the hook technique to turn the song into a sort of riddle. I wanted the unique expressions to arouse the curiosity of listeners. The ‘let me see ya lalala, love me hey yayaya’ part just means ‘please look at me, as I love you.’ The ‘u-hee, u-hee’ part is a mimetic word and my way of expressing the way a girl smiles while looking at her crush. The ‘go it go it go it go’ part means ‘I’ll fold my heart up and send it to you.’”

He continued, “I wanted to express the unique music through lyrics that sounded like a spell. Please don’t misunderstand it and just enjoy the exciting music. I meant to explain the song before its reveal, but instead decided to find a way to converse with the public as a composer and thought this would be the opportunity. Please be understanding.”

T-ara will be holding their comeback on December 3rd at KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank.”

“Space Battleship Yamato” setting out for the global market

The highly anticipated movie “Space Battleship Yamato“, starring Kimura Takuya, opened in Japan today, and distributor TOHO announced that it won’t cast the anchor there just yet.

The opening date of the movie alone is already something special, because in Japan new movies usually open on Saturdays. However, December 1st is considered the “Day of the Movie”, and so they were able to make an exception and release it before the weekend.

Kimura was in very high spirits at the stage greeting today, as he said, “I hope that many people will board the Yamato.”

At the stage greeting, TOHO also announced that distributors from France, Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong have already acquired the rights to distribute the movie in their countries. In addition, they revealed that they have received offers from American distributors as well.

Kimura appealed to the future international moviegoers with the words: “I want to tell them, ‘Please enjoy this science fiction movie made in Japan,’ and show them that the Yamato is a big enough ship for everyone.”

At the end of the greeting, TOHO openly challenged the current No.1 at the box office, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I”. They declared, “We aim to break the 8 billion Yen (95 million USD) mark and pass Harry Potter by the end of the year.”

Kimura’s biggest box office success to date was “HERO” in 2007, which brought in a total revenue of approximately 8.6 billion Yen (102 million USD).
